Chris Wiggins is an orthopaedic surgeon. His educational background is from the University of Arkansas where he obtained the Bachelor of Science and Medical Doctor Degrees, graduating first in his medical school class in 1971. After a surgery internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, he was a Medical Officer with the United States Air Force which included a tour of duty in Guam during the later days of the Vietnam era. A clerkship in forensic pathology and an orthopaedic residency completed his training. In addition to his private practice Dr. Wiggins has authored numerous scientific papers in respected medical journals.

His non-technical writing consists of two articles published in national religious magazines (one was in the Journal of the Christian Medical and Dental Society). He has also been a past contributor to the medical page of a newspaper where his articles, rather than being a serious discussion of medical issues, have taken the tone of humorous commentary on human foibles.

Dr. Wiggins has recently patented a device, the Freedom Boxer Fracture Prefab Orthosis, which allows patients with the most common type of broken hand to be cast-free much sooner. It is to be marketed by AliMed, Inc.

Dr. Wiggins' wife is a school teacher, two of his children are attorneys and one is in college majoring in pre-med. Their house, though now empty of children, contains two dogs, four cats, four parrots, and an aquarium. He maintains an active private practice in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
